K. V. Ganesan
Founder & Managing Partner
Meet the Founder
The man behind the counter.
Mr. Ganesan started Grand Jewellers with a simple conviction: that customers should never have to wonder what they were paying for. That belief shaped every decision that followed — long before it was common practice locally, he moved the shop to selling only complete 916 purity gold, embraced BIS hallmarking well ahead of most jewellers in the region, and insisted that every bill spell out exactly what a customer owed, down to the making charges.
Nearly four decades on, the showroom he opened is still run on that same conviction — care over volume, trust over shortcuts, a family name that customers have come to rely on.
Our Story
A small counter at Temple Junction.
In December 1986, K. V. Ganesan opened Grand Jewellers' first counter at Devamatha Junction, Koothattukulam — little more than a display case, a set of scales, and a belief that a jeweller's word should be worth as much as the gold he sold. There was no showroom to speak of, no advertising. Just honest weight, honest pricing, and designs people were proud to wear at their own weddings, and later, their children's.
Word travelled the way it does in a small town — through neighbours, through festivals, through families who came back year after year. As that trust grew, so did the shop: first to a larger space near the KSRTC bus stand, and eventually to the showroom on M C Road at Temple Junction that customers walk into today.
